Howdy! I’m Taylor Apple.

I’m an agricultural communications educator and doctoral candidate at Texas A&M University. My work focuses on preparing the next generation of communicators to engage thoughtfully with the public about agriculture, food systems and natural resources.

At the core of my teaching and research is a commitment to helping students find belonging, meaning and purpose in the spaces they choose to occupy as communicators. In my courses, I emphasize applied learning, project-based coursework and reflective practice so students can connect classroom concepts with real-world communication challenges while building professional confidence.

My research explores communication needs and emerging issues within agricultural communications in order to better prepare students entering the profession. I am particularly interested in applied research that informs how agricultural communication is taught, including how emerging technologies such as generative artificial intelligence can be integrated into the classroom to support timely, relevant and ethical communication.

Before beginning my doctoral studies, I worked in both industry and higher education, including roles as an agricultural communications instructor at Tarleton State University and a digital media specialist for K-State Research and Extension. These experiences continue to shape how I prepare students for meaningful careers in agricultural communications.

I also serve as the national adviser for Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, mentoring student leaders from universities across the United States and supporting professional development opportunities that connect students to careers in the field.

Outside of my academic work, I enjoy visiting agricultural operations, traveling and learning about the people and communities that shape agriculture. I’m also a coffee enthusiast who enjoys a good glass of wine and spending time with my husband and our two dogs.

Lets connect,
